  • The January transfer window may be shut but there’s still plenty of news from the rumour mill with several moves being put off until the summer.

Here, we round-up the transfer tales that have got everyone talking on Wednesday.

    EDEN HAZARD

Real Madrid have made contact with Chelsea star Eden Hazard over a summer transfer, according to Express.

Hazard has reportedly rejected a new long-term contract from the Blues, as he wants to wait until the end of the season to see if Los Blancos table a bid for his services.

The 27-year-old is said to be one of Real Madrid’s prime summer transfer targets, as they bid to bolster their attacking options after a poor 2017/18 campaign.

While Hazard is happy under Antonio Conte at Chelsea, it is believed he is ready for a change after nearly six seasons at Stamford Bridge.

    VERDICT: 6/10

With Madrid set to ramp up their attempts to sign a number of key players during the summer transfer window, it looks unlikely they will fork out over £100 million on Hazard.

Although he would add even more pace and class to a star-studded attack at the Bernabeu, Chelsea and Conte will do what they can to keep hold of their prized asset for next season.

    ARSENAL COULD LOSE STAR TRIO

Mesut Ozil’s mammoth new contract could result in Arsenal losing key men Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck, according to the Daily Mail.

The German’s new contract is reportedly up to £350,000-per-week, a deal which has doubled the wage paremeters at the Emirates Stadium.

Similarly, new signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitryan are earning close to £200,000 per week.

    RATING: 6/10

    VERIDCT

Wales star Ramsey underlined his importance with a hat-trick against Everton at the weekend and with 18 months remaining on his contract, the North London club will have to give Ramsey a massive pay rise or risk losing him to another club.

While Wilshere has proved himself in recent months, he will most likely have to take a pay cut if he wants to stay at Arsenal beyond the end of the season.

It will be more difficult for Welbeck to bargain a bigger contract as his position is weaker, with the former Man United player only a back-up option in attack.

Wenger will be eager to hold on to his players – but may opt to sell the trio, rather than give into their demands.
