  • Paul Pogba's future at Manchester United is the subject of speculation.

There’s no shortage of transfer gossip even with the January transfer window having shut two days ago, with clubs looking to get a leg up on summer deals.

Here’s a round-up of the latest speculation headlining the rumour mill.

    WHAT THE PAPERS SAY

Real Madrid are looking to bring Manchester United‘s Paul Pogba to La Liga this summer, according to The Sun. The Spanish giants have previously made an offer for the 24-year-old but lost out when he moved to Old Trafford for £89million two years ago. Rumours over the midfielder’s role at United have heightened but the paper says only offers in excess of £120million will make any deal possible.

Liverpool‘s interest in Roma goalkeeper Alisson appears to be wavering after a spike in performance from the Reds’ own keeper Loris Karius, the Telegraph says. With Simon Mignolet likely to look for first-team football away from Anfield, it had been thought Jurgen Klopp would be on the hunt for a back-up keeper. But with Karius impressing on the pitch, it is thought Liverpool may save the money for elsewhere.

Former Chelsea star John Terry appears eager to move back to the Premier League and his beloved club – but in a coaching role, the Mirror reports. The former captain has been playing in the Championship with Aston Villa but is reportedly considering a moving into coaching to one day climb the career ladder to become manager of Chelsea, the paper says.

There is a possibility Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane could leave the club at the end of the season – despite being on course to lift the Champions League trophy, the Daily Mail reports. Captain Sergio Ramos is quoted in the paper as saying that “everyone takes for granted that if he wins it he will stay but he might want to take a rest”. It comes after Real beat Paris St Germain 3-1 on Wednesday.

    PLAYERS TO WATCH

Joe Hart: The goalkeeper could be heading abroad this summer after struggling while on loan at West Ham, The Sun reports. After losing his place at Manchester City, the 30-year-old would likely have hoped for more playing time at the London Stadium in order to keep his place in the England team ahead of Russia 2018. With one year left on his contract at City by the end of this season, Hart may consider returning overseas to boost his career, the paper says.

Toby Alderweireld: Tottenham may be willing to lose Toby Alderweireld this summer, the London Evening Standard reports, as the club also looks to bat away interest from top European clubs for their star players. Doubts remain over Alderweireld, the paper says, after a lengthy injury spell and being left out of Spurs’ trip to Turin earlier this week. It would appear the 28-year-old’s complex contract could influence whether Spurs opt to extend his deal to 2020.
