The January transfer window may be shut but there’s still plenty of news from the rumour mill with several moves being put off until the summer.
In our second round-up of the day, we review the tales that have got everyone talking.
THIBAUT COURTOIS
The Telegraph reports Real Madrid want Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to stall his contract talks while they decide which goalkeeper to make their No. 1 target this summer. Madrid have been long-standing admirers of both Courtois and Manchester United‘s David de Gea, and both have been linked with a move to the Spanish capital this summer. Courtois has yet to sign a new contract at Chelsea, despite speculation that a deal was close to being agreed last month, and Madrid want the Belgian to continue stalling until April until they make a decision.
ALESSANDRO FLORENZI
Roma right-back Alessandro Florenzi is reportedly a target for both Juventus and Antonio Conte, according to Tuttosport. Conte’s future at Chelsea is up in the air, but the Italian wants Florenzi at whichever club he is managing next season. Meanwhile, the Italian national team’s Juventus contingent has apparently been trying to convince Florenzi, who can also play as a midfielder, to join them. Conte’s interest means the Serie A side will have to move quickly to sign the 26-year-old.
