  • There are a few months yet until the summer transfer window comes along but there’s still plenty to talk about as clubs lay the groundwork for potential deals once the current campaign is concluded.

There are more than enough stories for football fans to sink their teeth into.

Here’s a look at three potential transfer deals that could go through when the market reopens for business in June.

    ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI

Real Madrid are ready to pay £132million for Robert Lewandowski this summer, according to Przeglad Sportowy. The Polish newspaper claims the Bayern Munich striker could be heading to Spain after sacking his agent in favour of transfer guru Pini Zahavi – who was central to Neymar’s move to PSG in August. Real are enduring a poor season and are said to be on the cusp of luring Lewandowski to the Bernabeu. The 29-year-old has scored 139 goals in 180 games in all competitions – and could cost Los Blancos in excess of £130 million.

    ANTHONY MARTIAL

Tottenham are on high alert as talks over a new contract for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial have stalled, reports RMC Sport. The 22-year-old’s deal runs until the end of next season and despite scoring nine goals in 15 matches this term, his future is in doubt after the Red Devils signed Alexis Sanchez last month. The Frenchman has largely operated from the bench this season with his starting role in the team jeopardised by Jose Mourinho’s preference for Marcus Rashford and Sanchez, and Mauricio Pochettino may look to counter on that. It just depends on whether United would be willing to sell to a domestic rival.

    DANIELE RUGANI

Arsenal are eyeing a £25 million swoop for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, according to Football Italia. The 23-year-old is highly-rated at the Juventus Stadium and was on the bench for their 2-2 draw with Tottenham in the Champions League last week. The Italy international is keen to move away from Turin after struggling for game time this season, making just 16 appearances in all competitions and Arsene Wenger could be poised to swoop. The Gunners boss is looking for defensive reinforcements in the summer after failing to land Jonny Evans last month.
