Next big thing in Argentine football: Lautaro Martinez.

Arsenal could still yet move for the striking ace this summer after the 20-year-old denied he is closing in on a transfer to Inter Milan.

Martinez, who is valued at €30m (Dh135m), has risen to prominence at Racing Club in his homeland and could be handed a call-up to Argentina’s World Cup squad for Russia.

According to TNT Sports, Martinez has revealed he will make a call on his long-term future at the end of the season and is not prepared to talk to other clubs before that, in a show of loyalty for the team that provided him with his first chance in the game.

The Gunners, meanwhile, have scouted the forward this term and could be ready to rival the Nerazzurri for his signature once the window reopens.

    Midfield powerhouse: Victor Wanyama.

Manchester United and Liverpool are monitoring the totemic midfielder’s ongoing contract renewal talks at Tottenham, the Daily Mirror reports.

The 26-year-old Kenyan is an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino’s efficient Spurs outfit but currently appears no closer to agreeing fresh terms with the north London club.

Although the former Southampton man has three years left on his current contract, the Whites are keen to tie him and several other players to the club long-term to avoid a smattering of Europe’s other top clubs from raiding their squad.

Both the Red Devils and Kop giants have made no secret of the fact they are looking to bolster their midfield options in the summer and a man of Wanyama’s pedigree certainly fits the bill.

    Top midfield talent: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The coveted Manchester United summer target is a better player than current central midfield star Paul Pogba, according to former PSV and Chelsea forward Mateja Kezman.

Lazio man Milinkovic-Savic is widely billed as one of the next big stars of European football, with the Red Devils apparently set to launch a huge-money bid in the near future.

The Daily Mirror has reported that United are well set in the race to snap up the 23-year-old while Real Madrid and Barcelona are also in the reckoning.
