  • Though the winter transfer window just passed and the summer window is still months down the road, that hasn’t stopped the chatter of players potentially being on the move.

Across the world of football, there remains plenty of activity and stories that have football fans talking.

Here, we look at five potential transfer candidates that could be heading elsewhere when the market reopens in June.

    RAPHAEL VARANE

Manchester United are believed to be lining up a £54m bid for Real Madrid star Raphael Varane, the Express reports.

The French international has established himself as one of the world’s best centre-backs during his time at the Bernabeu.

And the 24-year-old is on United’s transfer wishlist as they consider to bolster their options in defence ahead of next season.

Jose Mourinho has convinced the club to sign Varane as he has first-hand experience of his talents having signed him from Lens during his time as Real Madrid manager in 2011.

    ANDRIJA ZIVKOVIC

Arsenal have sent scouts to monitor Benfica star Andrija Zivkovic, according to the Sun.

The 21-year old winger scored in his side’s 5-0 win over Martimo last weekend, and the Gunners are interesting in securing his signature.

But Arsene Wenger’s side are likely to face competition from Man United – with the Old Trafford club also keen to land the Serbian international.

Zivkovic, who is under contract at Estadio da Luz until 2021, has scored three goals and provided three assists in 12 Primeira Liga matches this term.

    JONNY EVANS

West Brom are set for a mass exit of players if they get relegated to the Championship with captain Jonny Evans among the key targets, reports the Sun.

The highly-rated Northern Irishman is a man in demand, with Arsenal and Man City interested in signing the star defender.

A fee of £25m should be enough to get the deal over line during the summer – although Baggies will want to keep their prized asset it will be difficult to stop the 30-year-old if he wants to leave the Hawthorns.

Evans’s leadership qualities would make him a fearsome addition to any side – and a move to the Sky Blues would guarantee the potential to win trophies.
