Though the winter transfer window just passed and the summer window is still months down the road, that hasn’t stopped the chatter of players potentially being on the move.
Across the world of football, there remains plenty of activity and stories that have football fans talking.
Here, we look at five potential transfer candidates that could be heading elsewhere when the market reopens in June.
NABIL FEKIR
Real Madrid have identified Lyon’s Nabil Fekir as the man to replace Gareth Bale, according to the Daily Star.
Los Blancos are expected to be in the market for added creativity this summer and are ready to make a move for a highly-rated France international.
Arsenal are also keen on the tricky 24-year-old and are reportedly willing to spend £45m on the France international, who is being constantly monitored by Wenger’s scout Gilles Grimandi.
JUSTIN KLUIVERT
Justin Kluivert is flattered by talk of Lionel Messi wanting him at Barcelona, but maintains that his focus remains locked on events at Ajax.
The exciting teenage talent is said to be wanted at Camp Nou and Old Trafford, with Manchester United also keen on acquiring his potential.
But the 18-year-old son of former Barca and Ajax striker Patrick Kluivert told FourFourTwo: “My two main goals are winning the Eredivisie title with Ajax and then making my debut for the Netherlands, and of course to keep improving.
EMRE CAN
Emre Can continues to run down his contract at Liverpool and Real Madrid have now joined the chase for his signature, claims the Daily Star.
Juventus have been heavily linked with the Germany international, who will become a free agent in the summer, but Los Blancos are ready to make a move amid doubts over Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Mateo Kovacic.
PEPE REINA
AC Milan have confirmed they are interested in signing Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina.
The 35-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has been the subject of interest from the Rossoneri with uncertainty over the future of PSG target Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli told Sky Sport Italia: “We did inform Napoli that we want to speak to Pepe Reina’s agent, because we want to see if there’s a possibility of bringing the player to Milan.”
