ANDRE GOMES

The Barcelona midfielder’s future will be decided by his brother, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Liverpool and AC Milan have both been chasing the former Valencia star, who has struggled to establish himself as a Camp Nou regular and has had to deal with being jeered by the Blaugrana faithful this term.

However, the Portugal international is still only 24 and is likely to be allowed to leave for less than the €35 million fee (Dh158m) Barca shelled out for his signature in the summer of 2016.

With Philippe Coutinho‘s arrival and Gremio star Arthur incoming, Gomes’ first-team chances are limited. His brother, Joao, is apparently in talks with a host of clubs to secure his client a big transfer this summer.

Gomes has had a tough time in Catalonia.

TONI KROOS

The Real Madrid midfielder has apparently asked Los Blancos for some time to make a decision over his long-term future.

The Express reports that the German playmaker, who is contracted to the Bernabeu club until 2022, will confirm within the next month if he wants to stay in the Spanish capital next season.

Kroos is set to star at this summer’s World Cup in Russia and has been linked with Manchester United following a below-par season in which he has struggled to hit top form.

That said, the 28-year-old is still a man Zinedine Zidane admires and he isn’t someone he would allow to leave easily.

Kroos enjoyed his finest game of the season against Girona recently.

CHRIS SMALLING

Everton are ready to launch a summer bid for the Manchester United centre-back, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The Toffees are seeking a long-term partner for Michael Keane in defence, with club captain Phil Jagielka coming towards the back-end of his career at 35 and Ramiro Funes Mori’s future uncertain following a long-term injury.

Smalling, who has only 15 months left on his Old Trafford deal, is reportedly going to be replaced by Jose Mourinho next season despite being a regular starter of late.

The Blues have also been linked with out-of-favour Phil Jones but are said to prefer the 28-year-old former Fulham man.

Chris Smalling was excellent in Saturday's 2-1 defeat of Liverpool.

Chris Smalling is likely to leave the Manchester club.

Lionel Messi is a big fan of Marcos Alonso

Though the summer transfer window is still a few months away, that hasn’t stopped the rumours of players potentially being on the move.

Across the world of football, there remains plenty of activity and stories that have football fans talking.

Marcos Alonso

MARCOS ALONSO

While Chelsea’s season has not lived up to expectations one constant has been the impressive form of the 27-year-old Spaniard. Now the former Bolton Wanderers star is being lined up by Barcelona who, according to The Guardian, are said to be lining up a swoop on the recommendation of one Lionel Messi. The Catalan club had been considering going for Bayern Munich’s David Alaba but Messi reckons Alonso is a better fit. No arguing with Lionel.

Everyone it seems is in for the Atlético Madrid goalkeeper and the latest Premier League club to express their interest are Arsenal, keen to find a ready replacement for the fading Petr Cech. According to The Guardian, the 25-year-old Slovenia star will be available if the Spanish giants are able to pry Thibaut Courtois from his current home at Chelsea this summer. The Blues do have Willy Caballero as back-up.

MAURO ICARDI

The 25-year-old could be joining Alvaro Morata in the Chelsea front-line next season, according to Argentine journalist Fernando Czyz. He claims the Blues have made a bid for the Inter Milan striker. “Mauro Icardi has received the first formal offer to leave Inter,” Czyz tweeted yesterday. “Chelsea made a bid of £55 million (Dh285.6m) for the Argentine forward to move to London.” Morata is yet to fully find his feet at Chelsea so Icardi, who has scored 22 goals in 24 Serie A games this season, could be the perfect solution. Icardi has a buyout clause of £96m (Dh498.5m).

Hector Bellerin grabbed a late, late equaliser.

Hector Bellerin is staying put.

HECTOR BELLERIN

There is a lot of speculation around a possible move to Napoli from Emirates Stadium for the Spanish defender, but according to his agent the 23-year-old isn’t going anywhere. “There’s no contact for Bellerin, no-one has sought me out,” Albert Botines, told Radio CRC. “He’s happy, he’s recently renewed and he’s playing consistently. It’s true that every player always wants to grow, but right now it’s difficult [to see him leaving].”

Max Meyer could be on the move to Merseyside

MAX MEYER

Liverpool have received a boost in their pursuit of Schalke’s Max Meyer, according to The Daily Mirror. The 22-year-old is out of contract this summer and the Reds are monitoring his situation, with the attacking midfielder apparently having turned down two new contract offers from his current side. Schalke president Clemens Tonnies has also claimed a planned meeting was called off. “I had an appointment with Max and his advisor, which was cancelled by his agent on short notice,” he told Bild.

RIYAD MAHREZ

Roma have unfinished business when it comes to trying to sign the Leicester winger, according to The Mirror.

The Italian side came close to prising away the Foxes’ star man last summer and were rumoured to be in contention to sign him along with Manchester City during the January transfer window.

Since then, Mahrez has apparently declared his willingness to leave the Midlanders but the 2016 Premier League champions rebuffed approaches from the Algerian.

The 27-year-old, who has started to find form again in 2018 and netted in each of his past two league matches, is still on Roma’s radar and the Stadio Olimpico side could make a cash-plus-player offer.

Mahrez has been widely linked with Serie A.

MATTHIJS DE LIGT

Barcelona are running a close rule over the Ajax prodigy, who is billed as one of the world’s top young defensive talents.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Camp Nou club have identified the 18-year-old as a top target and will watch De Ligt at close quarters should he feature for Ronald Koeman’s side in upcoming international friendlies.

The towering centre-back has become a regular fixture in the Ajax side this season, prompting further reported interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.

However, Barcelona are at the front of the queue and De Ligt could join a stellar roll call of fellow countryman like Koeman, Frank de Boer, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Phillip Cocu who have all pulled on the Blaugrana jersey.
