DANI CEBALLOS

The Real Madrid midfielder has declared he wants to fight for his place at the Bernabeu following a difficult first season in the Spanish capital.

Ceballos moved to Los Blancos last summer in a big-money move from Real Betis but has failed to establish himself in Zinedine Zidane‘s side.

The 21-year-old apparently sought advice from his former coach at Betis in January and contemplated leaving the Whites to play regularly, but according to Goal, is now content to fight for his place.

It remains to be seen whether or not his future may change come the summer, given Liverpool have also been interested in his signature.

All smiles when Ceballos signed last summer.

LUKE SHAW

Barcelona have emerged as shock contenders to sign the wantaway Manchester United left-back, according to the Mirror.

The 22-year-old, who has had a series of high-profile fallings out with Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho, is likely to leave the Old Trafford club at the end of the season.

Shaw, who is also unlikely to be named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup finals in Russia, is on Blaugrana’s radar as the Spanish giants seek cover for Jordi Alba while Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton are linked with his signature.

The former Southampton star has one year remaining on his Old Trafford contract.

ANDREA BELOTTI

The long-term Manchester United target has apparently revealed he will only leave Torino if he is guaranteed first-team football elsewhere.

The Evening Standard reports that the 24-year-old, who is captain of the Turin club, is seeking a move away from Serie A but is unwilling not to play week in, week out.

A switch to Old Trafford would represent a significant pay increase for the Italian but with Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford Anthony Martial in the striking ranks, competition is fierce.

Torino would demand at least €100 million (Dh457m) for their star man, which could put potential suitors off.

Thibaut Courtois is yet to agree a new contract with Chelsea.

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois says he will still be at Chelsea next year, even if he does not agree a new contract this summer.

Courtois has received criticism for some of his performances of late – notably when Barcelona‘s Lionel Messi twice scored between his legs – and believes he is subject to greater scrutiny because of the uncertainty over his future.

The 25-year-old’s current contract with Chelsea expires in June 2019, when he could leave for free, so the Blues may seek to sell him this summer if they cannot agree a new deal. Real Madrid and Paris St Germain have been linked with Courtois.

The Belgium goalkeeper told Sporza: “I have one year contract (remaining) and feel good at Chelsea.

“At the end of the season we will sit down together. I live there quietly and know that I will be at Chelsea next year as well.

“If I go to the World Cup with a clear idea, sign or wait another year, my mind will be clear at the World Cup.”

Courtois has returned to Chelsea from international duty with Belgium due to a hamstring injury.

Chelsea next play Tottenham on Sunday in a match crucial to their bid to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

SERGIO AGUERO

The Manchester City hero has hinted that he wants to finish his career in Argentina and join former club Independiente in 2020.

According to Fox Sports, the 29-year-old – whose contract expires in two years’ time – has made it clear he wants to round-off his stellar time in the game at the club in which he made his name.

Aguero rose through the youth ranks at El Rojo in the late 1990s before landing a move to Atletico Madrid in 2006 following a breakthrough 2005-06 campaign with the Buenos Aires-based side.

The forward, who is City’s highest scorer of all-time, has once again enjoyed a prolific campaign at the Etihad Stadium – reaching the 30-goal mark in all competitions for the second successive season.

KIERAN TIERNEY

Manchester United are eyeing a summer swoop for the Celtic and Scotland left-back, according to the Daily Record.

The 20-year-old Parkhead ace has been on the Red Devils’ radar for some time, with the Old Trafford club reportedly having watched the defender on numerous occasions this season.

With Luke Shaw likely to depart and uncertain futures for the likes of Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Phil Jones, Jose Mourinho has made it his priority to strengthen the United backline.

Valued at around £20 million (Dh103m), boyhood Celtic fan Tierney would leave the club with a heavy heart but a move to the Premier League would be very difficult to turn down.
