Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker admits he is flattered by speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants are looking for a goalkeeper in the summer and the 25-year-old is reportedly top of their list.

Manchester United’s David de Gea and Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois had been linked with a move to the Bernabeu, but it seems Becker is Madrid’s preferred first choice.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is also thought to be in the race to sign the highly-rated keeper.

When asked about the speculation, Becker told Portuguese TV programme Globoesporte: “Those links massage the ego, it cannot be denied.

“People get satisfaction from recognition. I feel very happy to have recognition.

“It means that I am doing my job well, that they are watching me.

“Even more so when one hears about Real Madrid.”

IKER CASILLAS

Jurgen Klopp seems to have landed on Loris Karius as his number one at Liverpool ahead of Simon Mignolet.

Roma’s Alisson has nevertheless been strongly linked with a move to Anfield but reports suggest the Reds don’t agree to the Serie A outfit’s valuation of the player.

But reports have suggested the Reds have been put off by Roma’s valuation of the Brazilian which is in the region of €80 million which is out of Liverpool’s budget.

According to Spanish outlet Mi Otra Liga, Iker Casillas has therefore emerged as an alternative.

Verdict

The former Real Madrid skipper may not be the keeper he once was but could legitimately be better than what Jurgen Klopp has at his disposal. He received a great reception at Anfield when he played there with Porto this season. A new challenge, a new lease of life perhaps?

JEAN MICHAEL SERI

Manchester United and Manchester City are set to go head-to-head again, this time for Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Jose Mourinho is keen to add to his midfield and the lively Seri tops his list. The Ivorian would help account for Michael Carrick’s retirement but Pep Guardiola is equally interested in having the player replace Fernandinho at City.

Verdict

United do need a replacement for Carrick but Seri may not be the pass-master they require. City on the other hand have other options available. For the right price though, Seri could be a great signing.

SAMUEL UMTITI

Barcelona are concerned by Manchester United‘s interest in Samuel Umtiti, according to SPORT. The defender has refused to sign a new deal with the club until his wage demands are met.

However, the Catalans are reluctant to put the Frenchman on par with high earners like Luis Suarez.

The centre-back has a release clause of just €60 million which is an appealing one in today’s market.

Verdict

This could go away very quickly if Barcelona give into Umtiti’s wage demands but the Catalans are unlikely to take kindly to the stand-off. If they refuse to bow down, United will be more than happy to swoop in as they’re desperate for a quality and consistent centre-back to partner Eric Bailly or Phil Jones.

PAUL POGBA

Paul Pogba has been shown some tough love from Jose Mourinho of late as the United boss has left his star player out of starting line-up repeatedly over the last couple of months.

The 25-year-old has since been linked to Real Madrid and Barcelona having been left frustrated with the Portuguese’s tactics..

However, according to Yahoo Sport, Mourinho wants to hold onto the Frenchman despite his view that the midfielder has lost focus.

Verdict

A couple of months of below par performances is no reason to turn your back on a world class talent that you spent a world record fee on. Once Mourinho gets the balance of the team right, Pogba should fall into place.

JAMES MADDISON

James Maddison has popped up on the radar of a few Premier League sides with Tottenham and Chelsea leading the chase. Norwich City are willing to sell the midfielder according to Bristol Post but will only let him go for a fee in the region of €28 million.

The two London clubs are keen on the 21-year-old with a bidding war expected to break out. Maddison has been in stunning form this season, scoring 14 goals in all competitions.

The England under-21 star is being watched by several clubs with Manchester City keeping tabs on his progress as well.

Verdict

Maddison looks primed to make the step up to the Premier League but at 21, he will want to move to a club where he will be used regularly.
