  • Could Morata return to Real Madrid?

Though the summer transfer window is still a few months away, that hasn’t stopped the rumours of players potentially being on the move.

Across the world of football, there remains plenty of activity and stories that have football fans talking.

Here, we look at the latest transfer deals that could happen when the market reopens in June.

    ALVARO MORATA

The Chelsea hitman could be in line for a sensational summer return to Real Madrid, according to ESPN.

With Karim Benzema seemingly coming towards the end of his Bernabeu career and a move for Bayern Munich talisman Robert Lewandowski no closer, Los Blancos are apparently keen to re-sign the striker – less than a year on since they sold the 25-year-old to the Stamford Bridge club.

Having initially started like a house on fire at the Blues, Morata’s form has faded while injuries have restricted his impact in 2018.

Chelsea are thought to be content with keeping the striker, who became a club-record £60m (Dh308m) buy last summer, but the Spaniard may find a switch back to Madrid difficult to turn down given his affiliation with the club and history there.

Morata has scored 13 goals in all competitions this term.

    GARETH BALE

Manchester United could allow forward Anthony Martial to leave Old Trafford in the close season, to free-up funds to sign Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.

According to The Mirror, the Red Devils are ready to offer Bale the chance to return to the Premier League amid speculation the Welshman’s five-year stint with the Whites is coming to a crossroads.

Martial hasn’t been at his best consistently this season, leading to suggestions Jose Mourinho’s men might cash in on the forward for a sum in the region of £80m (Dh411m) and then try to land Bale for around half of that.

Of late, Bale has started to show some form and managed to force his way back into Zinedine Zidane’s side, however, he is thought to be the man to make way should Los Blancos pursue long-term target, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, after the conclusion of the World Cup in Russia.

Gareth Bale could win his first trophy with Wales on Monday.

Gareth Bale was on target against Las Palmas on Saturday.

    JAMAAL LASCELLES

Chelsea have identified the Newcastle captain as the man to lead a new-look defence next term, according to The Mirror.

The Blues are searching for a long-term replacement for Gary Cahill and someone to slot in alongside Andreas Christensen at the heart of the west London side’s backline..

Although there is speculation over Antonio Conte’s long-term future at the club, the 24-year-old former Nottingham Forest man has been earmarked as a future signing by Chelsea’s scouting team and not the Italian.

The Toon are hopeful they can convince Lascelles to stay for at least one more season but are resigned to losing him should the player’s head be turned with a big-money offer.
