  • Though the summer transfer window is still a couple of months away, that hasn’t stopped the rumours of players potentially being on the move.

Across the world of football, there remains plenty of activity and stories that have football fans talking.

    GARETH BALE

With Arjen Robben (34) and Franck Ribery (35) in the twilight of their careers, Bayern Munich definitely need to bring in at least one winger in the summer and the German champions are monitoring Gareth Bale‘s situation, Goal reports.

The Welsh winger has fallen out of favour with Zinedine Zidane and has been overtaken in the Real Madrid pecking order by both Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez.

“I have to make choices and I’ve got some very good players in the squad,” Zidane said ahead of the game against Leganes when asked about Bale, who scored in a 2-1 win.

    DRIES MERTENS

Manchester United and Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Napoli‘s contract talks with Dries Mertens, reports Calciomercato.

The Serie A side are eager to tie their brilliant Belgian forward to fresh terms beyond 2020, but face competition from the Premier League’s big guns.

Mertens has a €28 million release clause available to teams outside of Italy, which has United and Arsenal keen.

Hoffenheim head coach Julian Nagelsmann is apparently on Chelsea's radar.

    JULIAN NAGELSMANN

Chelsea have turned their attention to Julian Nagelsmann as they start to prepare for life after Antonio Conte, reports the Daily Star.

The highly-rated 30-year-old coach, who is currently in charge of Hoffenheim, has also been linked with Arsenal ahead of Arsene Wenger‘s imminent departure.

Nageslmann took Hoffenheim into the Champions League for the first time in his debut season, and is on course to match that achievement with a second fourth-placed finish on the back of a brilliant late run to the Bundesliga campaign.
