Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Real Sociedad and Spain right-back Alvaro Odriozola to make him the Champions League winners’ first summer signing, according to reports.
Odriozola, 22, has dominated his flank for the past two seasons for La Real. Such form has not gone unnoticed elsewhere, with a place earned in La Roja’s squad for World Cup 2018.
Newspaper Mundo Deportivo has stated that Los Blancos have hammered out personal terms with his representatives. Now, all that needs to be paid is his €40 million (Dh169.8m) buyout clause.
Odriozola produced four assists from 35 La Liga run-outs last term. His ability to play on the right wing might also have piqued Madrid’s interest, especially with Spain starter Dani Carvajal already at the club.
