  • The transfer window is now open in the Premier League, with the rest of Europe set to follow soon.

The window is followed by the usual speculation, and with the airwaves full of transfer rumours, it can be difficult to figure out which ones are legitimate and which are just noise.

Fortunately, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do it for you.

Below, you’ll find some of the latest transfer news churned out of our Rumour Mill broken down and analysed for your benefit along with our calculated predictions.

CRISTIANO RONALDO – FROM REAL MADRID TO PSG

PSG are hoping to lure the Portuguese captain away from Real Madrid this summer by offering a €45 million (Dh192.8m) per year contract, according to AS.

Why it will happen: The five-time Ballon d’Or winner could be tempted away from Bernabeu to seek a new challenge, especially with a burgeoning Parisien side who could potentially make him the highest paid player in the world.

Why it won’t happen: Ronaldo is an Real legend and, although, it is likely that the 33-year-old will step down a level from Madrid at some stage, it may not happen for another few years.

Prediction: After winning a fifth Champions League title last month, it still seems unimaginable to see the Portuguese at another club now. But in order for Los Blancos to secure Neymar next season, they may let Ronaldo go to sweeten the deal.

    Rating – 6/10

THIBAUT COURTOIS – CHELSEA TO LIVERPOOL

Liverpool will turn their attentions towards signing the in-demand Chelsea goalkeeper, according to Corriere del sport.

Why it will happen: The Belgian netminder has been locked in talks with the West London club but an agreement has yet to be reached to extend his contract beyond 2019. And with his deal set to expire in 12 months, the Chelsea hierarchy may want to offload him now instead of leaving on a free transfer.

Why it won’t happen: Jurgen Klopp’s side will be seriously strong next season with the additions of Fabinho and Naby Keita, but it is highly unlikely Courtois will leave Stamford Bridge for another English club.

Prediction: He may be determined to depart the Blues, but if that is the case, then expect him to put pen to paper on a long-term deal at either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid – a city he previously lived for three years.

    Rating – 4/10

MIRALEM PJANIC – JUVENTUS TO MANCHESTER CITY

Manchester City have entered the race with Barcelona and Real Madrid to sign the talented Juventus midfielder, according to Corriere della Sera.

Why it will happen: The Italian outlet are reporting that Pjanic has been waiting over a year to sign a contract extension and has grown frustrated at a lack of movement.

If an offer was on the table, the potential to win trophies with City, Barcelona or Real Madrid would be too appealing to turn down.

Why it won’t happen: The Bosnian international still has three years to run on his current deal and it is unlikely the Juventus hierarchy would allow the €50m-rated (Dh438m) player to leave.

Prediction: Pjanic is reportedly happy in Turin and has no intention of leaving the club he only joined in 2016.

    Rating – 4/10
