    THIAGO ALCANTARA

    FBL-GER-CUP-BAYERN MUNICH-FRANKFURT

Barcelona’s stars are pushing the board to bring Alcantara back to his boyhood club from Bayern Munich, according to SPORT.

Alcantara, 27, was prised from Camp Nou by then Bayern boss Pep Guardiola in 2013 after he exercised a clause in the Spain midfielder’s contract. He has gone on to shine during five seasons in the Bundesliga, yet his potential availability this summer has his former dressing room talking.

    WAYNE ROONEY

    FBL-ENG-PR-EVERTON-SOUTHAMPTON

The former England captain’s escape to MLS with D.C. United could be made official by Monday, according to Sky Sports.

Rooney, 32, visited Ben Olsen’s side last month and has been made available by Everton after last season’s underwhelming return to Merseyside. A two-year contract worth £3.8 million (Dh18.6m) per season is set to be signed.

D.C. are pursuing a marquee signing to lead them into their new Audi Field stadium.

    WILLIAM CARVALHO

    FBL-EUR-C3-ATLETICO-SPORTING

Everton are looking to take advantage of the chaos surrounding Sporting Lisbon by sweeping up Portugal defensive midfielder William Carvalho, according to Sky Sports.

Carvalho, 26, is attempting to extricate himself from his club after players and staff were assaulted by supporters last month. Although reports of a contract termination are believed to be inaccurate, this hasn’t stopped the Leoes putting one of their most-valuable assets on the transfer market.
