    MARCO VERRATTI

Manchester United are set to step up their attempts to sign the Paris Saint-Germain hard man this summer, The Sun reports.

Jose Mourinho has been a big fan of the Italian for a number of years and is hopeful of bolstering the ranks in the middle of the park, making him the club’s marquee acquisition.

Verratti, 25, is thought to want a new challenge away from the Parc des Princes, although he wouldn’t come cheaply.

The Ligue 1 champions value his services at £75 million (Dh 367m) but the Red Devils face competition from Real Madrid, who have been long-time admirers of his.

    MEDHI BENATIA

New Arsenal boss Unai Emery wants to bring the Juventus centre-back to the Emirates, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Gunners are all set for a busy summer in the transfer window and feel the 31-year-old’s experience would be a welcome addition to their backline ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

Benatia, who will be in action with Morocco at the World Cup, is thought to be available on the cheap given the Old Lady are themselves looking at signing Ajax’s young prospect Matthijs de Ligt in his place.

For Arsenal, with club captain Laurent Koscielny sidelined with a knee injury until at least December, the former Roma and Bayern Munich star will be able to bring a calming presence to the north London side.

Benatia is likely to decide his future after the tournament in Russia.

    RADAMEL FALCAO

The prolific Monaco striker has refused to rule out the prospect of joining Italian giants AC Milan.

The 32-year-old, who will lead the line for Colombia at the World Cup later this month, enjoyed a prolific season for the French Riviera club – plundering 24 goals in all competitions.

According to Goal, Falcao has admitted a switch to Serie A would be very difficult to turn down should the opportunity arise and admits he has always been a fan of the Rossoneri.

“I have already said that it’s an honour they are thinking of me,” the striker said when talking to media on international duty.
