  • The Premier League transfer window is now open and the market in the rest of Europe will spark into life soon (June 8).

With the transfer rumours growing in pace and volume during this ‘silly season’, it can be difficult and painstaking to separate the stories of some legitimacy from the rest of the noise.

Fortunately, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do it for you.

Below, you’ll find some of the latest transfer news churned out of the rumour mill broken down and analysed for your benefit along with our calculated predictions.

CLEMENT LENGLET – FROM SEVILLA TO MANCHESTER UNITED

Manchester United are interested in signing the highly-rated French defender, reports L’Equipe.

Why it will happen: The Red Devils are eager to bring in a new centre-back this summer with Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld also a potential target, but Lenglet is reportedly top on their wishlist.

Why it won’t happen: Real Madrid and Barcelona are among the clubs linked with a move for the Frenchman, but the La Liga champions look in pole position to secure his services on a five-year deal.

Prediction: After enjoying a stellar season for Sevilla it looks like the 22-year-old could be on the move to further his development, so expect his future to be finalised after the World Cup.

    Rating – 7/10

ANTHONY MARTIAL – FROM MANCHESTER UNITED TO TOTTENHAM

Why it will happen: The French winger has been frustrated at a lack of game time at Old Trafford and Spurs are seeking a world-class striker to provide competition for Harry Kane.

Why it won’t happen: Martial may feel a move away from Manchester is a step down in his career.

Prediction: The former Monaco star can reignite his career with Mauricio Pochettino and would get his confidence back with regular game time in a strong Spurs line-up.

    Rating – 6/10

MALCOM – FROM BORDEAUX TO INTER

Inter are the latest side to express interest in the Bordeaux hitman, according to Calciomercato.

Why it will happen: The Brazilian has been linked with a move away from Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux for nearly a year now.  And with Luciano Spalletti looking to strengthen his squad, the ace marksman would be a mainstay in an improving Nerazzurri side.

Why it won’t happen: Bordeaux are believed to be demanding £44m, a steep figure that Inter may be unwilling to pay for the 21-year-old.

Prediction: With Arsenal and Chelsea among potential destinations, the former Corinthians forward may sit tight for now until a bid is tabled for his services.

    Rating – 4/10
