Joel Lopez appears set for a move to Arsenal.

Arsenal are poised to sign highly rated Barcelona teenager Joel Lopez, according to reports.

The 16-year-old left-back has informed Barca he will not be signing a professional contract with them and has instead opted to move to London – echoing the path taken by Cesc Fabregas in 2003.

The 15-year-old Cadete A left-back has been at the Catalan giants since the age of seven and is described by reports in Spain as a ‘mature, attacking full-back who can be used as an offensive weapon’.

Following Lopez’s rejection of a contract with the Spanish giants, Arsenal will now have to pay a compensation fee for the player.

Arsenal’s head of recruitment Raul Sanllehi is believed to have played a key role in the deal.

Sanllehi moved to the Emirates from Barca at the beginning of the year, and appears to have been keeping an eye on Catalonia in order to bring talent to the Premier League.

Arsenal have also agreed terms with Paris Saint-Germain’s 17-year-old midfielder Yacine Adli.

Former Wales boss Chris Coleman has been appointed the new manager of Chinese Super League club Hebei China Fortune.

The Chinese outfit confirmed Coleman’s appointment on social media on Sunday, with the ex-Sunderland boss succeeding Manuel Pellegrini at the helm.

Pellegrini left China for West Ham, while Coleman was released from his Sunderland contract at the end of the season after the Black Cats dropped into League One.

“The board has decided that the club will employ Chris Coleman as head coach of Hebei China Fortune,” the Chinese club posted on micro blogging site Weibo.

Coleman won 32 caps for Wales in a 16-year career comprising stints at Swansea, Crystal Palace, Blackburn and Fulham, before moving into management at Craven Cottage.

The 48-year-old guided Wales to the semi-finals of Euro 2016, before moving on to take charge at Sunderland in November 2017.

Barcelona target Antoine Griezmann has teased that he expects to “find out this week” about his future.

Griezmann, 27, has seen the La Liga champions long been linked to paying the €100 million (Dh432.8m) release clause in his Atletico Madrid contract when it kicks in from July 1. The prolific forward’s current employers have also been keen to agree fresh terms.

France boss Didier Deschamps informed his squad that he wants decisions on their futures to be made before World Cup 2018 begins. Les Bleus start their Group C-campaign on June 16 against Australia at Kazan Arena.

“It’s good that you’re taking an interest,” said Griezmann, after the 1-1 friendly draw with United States on Saturday.

“There’s a week to go. I think we will find out this week.”

Griezmann has scored 112 times in 209 games for Atleti since joining from Real Sociedad during July 2014.
