Sadio Mane.

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane insists he is happy at the club after speculation linked him with a move to Real Madrid.

The Senegal international scored in last month’s Champions League defeat to the Spanish club and speculation almost immediately suggested he was a target for them – before Zinedine Zidane’s shock resignation.

But Mane, preparing for the start of the World Cup in Russia, insists he feels at home at Anfield.

“I am very happy in Liverpool and my contract will last for three more years,” the 26-year-old, a former Red Bull Salzburg player, told Austrian newspaper Salzburger Nachrichten.

“But you never know what will happen in the future. I want to win trophies, especially the Champions League.”

Mane said it was tough to put the heartbreaking final defeat behind him but he has now turned his focus to Senegal’s tournament in Russia.

“To be honest, this defeat was not easy to put away. The whole club worked hard for this Champions League title, but Real Madrid were the better team that day,” he added.

“We lost to the best team in the world. The defeat is ticked off. Now it is time to play with Senegal (and have) a good and successful World Cup. That’s my whole focus.”

Liverpool launched their ‘deep violet’ away kit on Thursday and defender Virgil van Dijk said: “We have the best travelling support in football and I’m excited to run out in front of our fans wearing this strip.”

Will Jan Oblak say farewell?

The transfer window is well and truly open.

With the rumours growing in pace and volume during this ‘silly season’, it can be difficult and painstaking to separate the stories of some legitimacy from the rest of the white noise.

Fortunately, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do it for you.

Below, you’ll find some of the latest transfer news churned out of the rumour mill broken down and analysed for your benefit along with our calculated predictions.

JAN OBLAK – ATLETICO MADRID TO REAL MADRID

Why it will happen: Los Blancos are chasing a new goalkeeper this summer as new boss Julen Lopetegui eyes a long-term replacement for Keylor Navas. Oblak certainly fits the bill given he has underlined his status as the best man between the sticks in La Liga.

Why it won’t happen: There is almost a gentlemen’s agreement in place between Atleti and the Whites that big transfer deals don’t happen between the two city rivals, so that could prove to be a sticking point.

Prediction: Atletico want to rebuild again under Diego Simeone this summer and the 25-year-old remains a key part of his plans.

STEFAN SAVIC – ATLETICO MADRID TO CHELSEA

Why it will happen: The towering centre-back has previous Premier League experience with Manchester City and would be a good addition to the Blues’ defence, with David Luiz set to depart and Gary Cahill showing his age last season.

Why it won’t happen: Juventus are desperate for more firepower in defence and could offer the 27-year-old Montenegro international Champions League football, something out of Chelsea’s hands.

Prediction: Having been left out of the Europa League final against Marseille, Savic would have been naturally disappointed and may feel this is the perfect time to move on.

Stefan Savic could make a return to the Premier League.

LUKASZ FABIANSKI – SWANSEA TO WEST HAM

Why it will happen: The former Arsenal goalkeeper wants to continue to ply his trade in the Premier League following the Swans’ relegation from the top-flight.

Why it won’t happen: Juventus are desperate for more firepower in defence and could offer the 27-year-old Montenegro international Champions League football, something out of Chelsea’s hands.

Prediction: The veteran goalkeeper is expected to jump at the chance to move back to London and become part of Manuel Pellegrini’s new plans at the London Stadium.
