ALEKSANDR GOLOVIN – CSKA MOSCOW TO MANCHESTER UNITED
Why it will happen: The prodigious Russian talent, who is just 22, was on fire during his country’s Group A victory over Saudi Arabia and is tipped for a big move this summer.
Why it won’t happen: There is no suggestion that the Russian Premier League side will even be tempted to cash in on their star asset this summer, nor has there been a firm bid yet from Manchester United.
Prediction: It will be interesting to see whether the playmaker feels he needs to take that next step in European football but expect him to stay put for at least one more season.
Rating – 5/10
MARVIN PLATTENHARDT – HERTHA BERLIN TO EVERTON
Why it will happen: The Toffees are seeking a long-term replacement for the ageing Leighton Baines and the Germany left-back fits the bill exactly.
Why it won’t happen: Hertha Berlin may slap an extensive asking price on his head, putting off Everton, who are set to be more cautious with majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri’s cash this summer.
Prediction: Plattenhardt would be an astute addition to Marco Silva’s squad and looks set to move after the World Cup.
Rating – 8/10
DANIELE RUGANI – JUVENTUS TO CHELSEA
Why it will happen: The Blues’ defence leaked way too many goals last season and the 23-year-old would bring some much-needed youth to the backline.
Why it won’t happen: Rugani has not revealed his desire to leave the Old Lady just yet, with the Serie A champions unlikely to allow him to leave without a suitable replacement.
Prediction: A big-money bid should be enough to secure his signature, though talks are set to be protracted.
Rating – 7/10
