  • The transfer window is well and truly open.

With the rumours growing in pace and volume during this ‘silly season’, it can be difficult and painstaking to separate the stories of some legitimacy from the rest of the white noise.

Fortunately, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do it for you.

Below, you’ll find some of the latest transfer news churned out of the rumour mill broken down and analysed for your benefit along with our calculated predictions.

    ANTHONY MARTIAL

Manchester United have slapped a £75 million (Dh365m) valuation on the French forward, The Mirror reports.

Why it will happen: The French winger has been frustrated at a lack of minutes at Old Trafford and his representative Philippe Lamboley claims “the time has come” for the player to move on after failure to reach a new deal.

Why it won’t happen: Martial may feel a move away from Manchester is a step down in his career.

Prediction: The former Monaco star can reignite his career with another club and would get his confidence back with regular game time elsewhere.

    Rating – 8/10

    JAVIER PASTORE

West Ham are hoping to clinch a deal to sign the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, Sky Sports reports.

Why it will happen: Previously one of the French giants top performers, Pastore looks like he will bring his six year association with the club to an end this summer in an effort to get more game time after starting just 14 matches last term.

Why it won’t happen: His excessive wage demands may force the Hammers to pull out of a potential deal.

Prediction: He clearly wants out of Parc des Princes and if he does leave this summer, he will have no shortage of options with Juventus linked with the elusive midfielder.

    Rating – 6/10

    THOMAS STRAKOSHA

Liverpool are planning a raid for the Lazio goalkeeper, according to Italian TV channel Sportitalia.

Why it will happen: The Merseysiders are desperate to sign a new man between the sticks this summer following Lloris Karius’ Champions League howlers and Simon Mignolet’s poor form, so Strakosha fits the bill.

Why it won’t happen: Lazio finished fifth in Serie A last season and looked an improved side under Simone Inzaghi. The 23-year-old Albanian may feel another year at Stadio Olimpico will help further his development.

Prediction: It remains to be seen whether Lazio will be prepared to sell the shot-stopper, who played every minute for them in Serie A last term, but the lure of Liverpool may prove too much for the former Panionios man.

    Rating – 7/10
