  • German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan could move on to the Camp Nou.

The transfer window is well and truly open.

With the rumours growing in pace and volume during this ‘silly season’, it can be difficult and painstaking to separate the stories of some legitimacy from the rest of the white noise.

Fortunately, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do it for you.

Below, you’ll find some of the latest transfer news churned out of the rumour mill broken down and analysed for your benefit along with our calculated predictions.

ALEX TELLES – PORTO TO LIVERPOOL

Alex Telles netted four times for Porto last season.

Alex Telles netted four times for Porto last season.

Why it will happen: After selling both Diogo Dalot to Manchester United and Ricardo Pereira to Leicester City, the Portuguese champions seem to be moving on their best assets and Telles looks likely to be next.

Why it won’t happen: The full-back has not publicly stated he wishes to switch clubs and Liverpool are well-stocked on the left-side with Andrew Robertson.

Prediction: The former Inter Milan star is a talented player and future international. A deal for him would certainly represent good business.

    Rating – 7/10

ILKAY GUNDOGAN – MANCHESTER CITY TO BARCELONA

Gundogan had a terrific comeback season for City.

Why it will happen: The German has revealed no desire to leave Manchester City but a move to Blaugrana would prove very difficult for him to turn down.

Why it won’t happen: Gundogan is a favourite of Pep Guardiola and he will want to keep his Premier League-title winning team together.

Prediction: Expect the £50 million-rated (Dh 243m) 27-year-old to stay put.

    Rating – 5/10

    N’GOLO KANTE – CHELSEA TO PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN

A player with an immense work-rate: N'Golo Kante

N’Golo Kante is known as the Premier League’s marathon man.

Why it will happen: The Frenchman, like many others at Stamford Bridge, seems uncertain about what is going on at the Blues and could pursue a new challenge.

Why it won’t happen: He is still a key man for Antonio Conte’s men and they really can’t afford to lose him.

Prediction: PSG’s interest in him has been quiet but if they rev-up that up, Kante will consider his options.

    Rating – 7/10
