Belgium midfielder Marouane Fellaini has confirmed he will announce within days where his future lies after rejecting a contract extension at Manchester United.

Speaking to the media ahead of Thursday’s World Cup Group G showdown with England, Fellaini was asked whether the uncertainty over his situation had affected him mentally.

He said: “No, since a few months, I am used to it. I am strong mentally to deal with it and soon I will say where I will be playing next season.”

Asked further if that confirmation will come on July 1, he replied: “Yes.”

Inter Milan have signed former Belgium midfielder Radja Nainggolan from fellow Serie A side Roma.

Nainggolan has signed a four-year deal with an Inter side preparing for their first appearance in the Champions League since the 2011-12 campaign, while Davide Santon and Nicolo Zaniolo have gone the other way.

Nainggolan, who retired from international football in May after being overlooked for the World Cup, has joined Inter for an initial fee of 38million euros (£33.5m), Roma have announced.

Former Newcastle full-back Santon has moved for 9.5m euros (£8.4m) while the Giallorossi have paid 4.5m euros (£4m) for 18-year-old midfielder Zaniolo.

Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio told his club’s website: “The Belgian is a real coup for Inter. He is an important player and one that has always been decisive, particularly during his years with the Giallorossi. He is a top player.”

Paris St Germain midfielder Javier Pastore has undergone a medical at Roma ahead of a transfer to the Italian club.

The Argentinian, who played in Serie A for Palermo before joining PSG in 2011, is set to return to Italy in a reported 20million euros (£17.6m) deal.

Roma posted pictures of Pastore arriving in the Italian capital on Monday and followed it the next morning with a tweet showing the 29-year-old undergoing his medical tests at the club’s training ground.

Pastore, who was left out of Argentina’s World Cup squad, could be Radja Nainggolan’s replacement in the Roma midfield, with the Belgian set for a move to Inter Milan.
