  • The transfer window is well and truly open.

With the rumours growing in pace and volume during this ‘silly season’, it can be difficult and painstaking to separate the stories of some legitimacy from the rest of the white noise.

Fortunately, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do it for you.

Below, you’ll find some of the latest transfer news churned out of the rumour mill broken down and analysed for your benefit along with our calculated predictions.

MARCO ASENSIO – REAL MADRID TO MANCHESTER UNITED OR PSG

The highly-rated Real Madrid forward will not be leaving the Bernabeu this summer despite growing frustrated at a lack of game time, according to AS.

Why it will happen: The Spaniard has grown frustrated at playing second fiddle to Cristiano Ronaldo and is desperate for a regular place in the Los Blancos starting XI.

Why it won’t happen: He may feel moving away from the Bernaneu is a step down in his career, and may want to fight for more game time under new manager Julen Lopetegui.

Prediction: The 22-year-old looks destined to stay at Real Madrid, especially under a new manager who will reward his hard-working, creative game style.

    Rating – 3/10

SON HEUNG-MIN – TOTTENHAM TO MANCHESTER UNITED OR ARSENAL

Manchester United and Arsenal are both interested in the elusive Tottenham attacker, clams Sport 1.

Why it will happen: The South Korea international is ready to take the next step in his burgeoning career after scoring 30 goals in 99 appearances during three seasons at Tottenham.

Why it won’t happen: Son has another two years to run on his deal at Wembley Stadium and looks set to continue at the fulcrum of the Spurs attack.

Prediction: If Son is to leave, there will be more shortage of potential suitors, but the 25-year-old looks set to stay for another season at least, especially with Pochettino having such faith in his all-round talents.

    Rating – 5/10

KHALID KOULIBALY – NAPOLI TO CHELSEA

Chelsea are still monitoring the Napoli defender and could pounce for their long-term target after the World Cup, according to Tuttosport

Why it will happen: Koulibaly has grown into being one of the standout centre-backs in world football and may want a new challenge to test his mettle against the world’s best in the Premier League.

Why it won’t happen: The Senegal international is also a target for both Manchester City and is set to wait before making a big decision on his future.

Prediction: Koulibaly is set to make a call on his future once football’s global showpiece is over.

    Rating – 6/10
