  • Inter Milan’s talismanic forward Mauro Icardi is near the top of Real Madrid‘s summer transfer wishlist following Cristiano Ronaldo‘s exit from the Bernabeu, Marca reports.

The 25-year-old, who was left out of Argentina’s World Cup squad by Jorge Sampaoli in favour of Cristian Pavon, has a San Siro release clause in the region of €110m.

While that price tag remains steep, Icardi seems to be the viable option given Neymar has confirmed he will stay at Paris Saint-Germain and World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe also looks likely to stick with the Parisian giants.

That leaves just Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski as the other man in the frame, though at 29 and off the back of a disappointing campaign with Poland in Russia, Icardi would represent a long-term option.
