  • Could Edison be on the way to Real?

The world still waits for Real Madrid’s first move for a superstar in the post-Cristiano Ronaldo era – and it could well be for Edinson Cavani.

According to Radio Marca, Los Blancos have declared their interest in a striker who has hit an incredible 170 goals in 245 games across all competitions for Paris Saint-Germain over the last five years.

Ronaldo he is not, but the 31-year-old goes some way to replacing the goals that CR7 has left behind and their current first-choice forward, Karim Benzema, does not produce.

Talks appear to be more exploratory at this stage, with no fee being mooted as yet, but PSG will believe that Cavani’s star turn for Uruguay in the World Cup – scoring two goals to knock out Portugal before suffering injury – will raise the price.
