West Ham’s hopes of signing Real Betis forward Loren look to be over, Mundo Deportivo reports.
The 24-year-old hitman has been tracked by the Hammers for some time, fuelling speculation that Manuel Pellegrini’s men were going to meet Loren’s €25million release clause.
However, the player himself has insisted he wants to stay at the Estadio Benito Villamarin and help the club build on their sixth-placed finish in La Liga last time out.
Loren, who could also sign a new deal with Betis, honed his trade in the club’s B team before rifling in seven goals during the second-half of last season.
Middlesbrough are keen on signing Sheyi Ojo this summer, the Daily Mail report.
The 21-year-old winger impressed in Liverpool’s 4-1 pre-season friendly thrashing of rivals Manchester United in Michigan on Sunday, scoring from the spot to make it 3-1.
The Reds are said to value the winger at £15m and Boro have money to spend after selling Patrick Bamford to Leeds for £10m.
Tony Pulis’ side could lose Adama Traore – who has an £18m release clause in his contract – and are eyeing attacking reinforcements, with the Liverpool man topping their list alongside Matt Phillips.
Ojo impressed on loan at Fulham in the Championship last season, helping the Cottagers earn promotion back to the Premier League – but he will be forced to leave the club in search of regular playing opportunities.
The news comes somewhat as a surprise given the Blues were in talks to sign the centre-back’s club team-mate Daniele Rugani, however, a swoop for the 24-year-old Italian appears to have hit a snag.
The Old Lady are thought to have priced Chelsea out of the picture for Rugani, leaving the Premier League side no alternative but to go after Caldara, who is available at a more affordable £30million fee, as opposed to £40million.
Amazingly, Caldara has yet to play a game for Juventus and has been on loan at Atalanta since joining the Turin giants in January 2017.
