  • Is he staying or going? Thibaut Courtois.

Thibaut Courtois has admitted that the ongoing transfer saga over his future is a “delicate situation”.

The Chelsea goalkeeper, who did not feature during the Blues’ Community Shield defeat to Manchester City on Sunday, is due to meet Maurizio Sarri this week amid speculation a move to Real Madrid is all but done.

Reportedly, and according to the Belgian’s agent Christophe Henrotay, the 26-year-old has told the Stamford Bridge club he wishes to leave and move to Los Blancos.

Courtois has openly revealed in the past he wants to be closer to his family in the Spanish capital, where he previously plied his trade with Atletico Madrid.

The issue though is that Chelsea are reluctant to part company with their established No1 so close to the English transfer window deadline (August 9), leaving the Premier League giants very little time to sign a suitable replacement.

With various complications involved in the deal, Courtois is seemingly in the dark about what is going on.

“My transfer? I am not going to say anything about that now, it is a delicate situation,” he told Begian reporters.

“I cannot say much, I am not thinking about that, I am calm and becoming anxious would not help. What is important is to be ready for next season.”
