  • Milan-bound: Jackson.

Colombia international striker Jackson Martinez has agreed to join AC Milan for €35 million (Dh144m), according to Porto president Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa.

Martinez, 28, indicated last month he wanted to leave the Portuguese giants after 92 goals in 132 games. His agent Luiz Enrique Pompeo claimed earlier this week Martinez would choose between Milan and an offer from another major European club but Da Costa last night revealed he’s bound for the Rossoneri.

“Before going on vacation, Jackson announced he wanted to leave,” Da Costa said. “The €35m clause is not up for debate and must be paid. I learned just now that Jackson has chosen Milan.

“This is what he wants, the destination is irrelevant as far as I am concerned. I want him to be happy.”
