  • We shall not be moved: The victorious EFC U12 side

The U12 boys of E-Sports Football Club (EFC) completed a remarkable season by remaining unbeaten since October 2015 on their way to the UAE Pro League title.

The EFC boys, who were in their third consecutive season in the Pro League, faced tough opposition in the shape of Al Wasl, who went into the final game locked on points with them at the top. However, EFC proved their class with a 4-0 win.

Jay Baisley opened the scoring in the first minute and he quickly added to his tally with another in the eighth minute. Mikail Versi made it 3-0 two minutes later and Ben Clarke completed the scoring in the 23rd minute.

Terry Kidd, EFC’s Coach and Director of Football, said: “This year, the 2004 group have shown incredible skill, unity and professionalism to show the capability of playing at this level against local giants such as Al Wasl FC.

“The team has been playing together since 2012 and have grown into a very strong side. They have great teamwork and determination.

“We would like to thank the UAE Football Association for the fantastic opportunity of competing in this league and look forward to many more seasons and events together. The trophy is a great success for the team and shows the progression from last year’s third-place finish.”

The win is just another feather in the cap for E-Sports Football Club, who last month won gold at the 2016 Sports Industry Awards (SPIA) for ‘Best Sport Youth Academy and Organization of the Year’.

“We are delighted to have achieved so much,” Kidd added. “The SPIA was amazing recognition for the whole team, and with so many pinnacles across different age groups, this shows the dedication of EFC’s coaches in taking players on the pathway to excellence.”
