  • Emirates ID have still yet to taste defeat in the 4th Abu Dhabi Football League at Zayed Sports city, winning six of their seven games already this season, with only a single draw keeping them from a 100% record.

Goals from Abdulla Al Harthi, Khaled Al Hammadi and Mohamed Al Ataas were enough for Emirates ID to beat D.Feras 3-1 and move up to top spot in Group 1.

University Sports Federation were knocked off the top with their first defeat of the season losing 5-4 to Sultan Arif Khoury. A brace from Saleh Ali Almansori helped Sultan on their way to their 4th win of the season and within six points of the leaders.

Al Hosn avoided the bite of the Irish Wolfhounds, managing to battle their way to a 5-3 victory.

The other games in Group 1 saw Diplomatic and Governmental taking all three points against Yalla Eat Healthy with a 4-0 victory; and Money Makers edging out Kobetas 3-2 in a hard fought win.

The Falcons Academy are still soaring at the top of Group 2 and remain on top after an emphatic 9-2 win over Shamar. Hat-tricks from Mustafa Mbacke and Bader Salim guided the falcons to their 6th win of the season, while a brace from Walid Hosein was enough for Abu Dhabi Graduates to beat Victory 4-3 and move above them to 4th in the table.

Zayed Sports City did enough to beat Al Fuad Sports Club 2-0, whilst ADIB cashed in three points against Mubadala with a 4-2 victory.

It has been a lively start to 2014 with both groups still wide open and all to play for and, as we move close to the half way point in the season, competition is really heating up as teams battle to reach the playoffs.

The league is sanctioned by the UAE Football Association and supported by Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Wilson and Sport 360.

Matches are scheduled on Mondays and Tuesday from 9.00p.m onwards and all results, fixtures and breaking news can be found on the official website www.adfl.ae
