AFC Asian Cup 2015 hosts Australia have announced that they are to take on the UAE in a friendly ahead of the tournament's January start next year.

The UAE will welcome the Socceroos on the 10th October, four days before Uzbekistan travel to the redion to face The Whites.

Having performed admirably with a young team filled with A-League stars at the World Cup, Australia will provide a real test for the UAE and give a clear indication of where their side is at ahead of their Asian Cup campaign.

Australia, meanwhile, will head to Qatar for another friendly in the Middle East on the 14th.

Socceroos manager, Ange Postecoglou said the fixtures against the UAE and Qatar will be great preparation for the Asian Cup.

"We will get some good hit outs against Asian opposition to help us prepare tactically for the Asian Cup,” said Postecoglu.

The match between the UAE and Australia will be the first time the two sides have met.
