Sharjah youngster Ahmed El Yamani has thanked the du LaLiga High Performance Center (HPC) for letting him “achieve my dream” after he caught Celta Vigo’s eye.

A one-year tie-up for the brilliant 16-year-old with the Europa League semi-finalists was announced on Tuesday night.

The Palestinian winger’s arrangement was earned thanks to his impressive displays as du’s Under-18s took home the gold from the inaugural season of the UAE FA Academy League, plus in a development trip to Spain.

“I am very, very excited,” said El Yamani. “It’s the first step and will encourage me to reach for a career at the top of professional football.

“I want to thank du FC and all my coaches, because they did a great job for me and they helped me achieve my dream.”

El Yamani and 17-year-old team-mate Rashed Ahmed – the Emirati left-back is in negotiations with the Arabian Gulf League’s Al Ain – has progressed thanks to the relationship between the organisers of Spain’s top-two divisions and the UAE telecommunications provider.

Excitingly, a quintet of other talents could soon join El Yamani on the conveyor belt to professional football.

“This is the first fruit of the du Football Champions platform and the du LaLiga HPC,” said Hussein Murad, CEO of sports marketing agency Inspiratus.

“At the same time, we have another five guys in our under-18s under the eye of Villarreal, Valencia, Real Betis and Sevilla. We hope they will be able to sign five of them, or maybe the majority.”
