UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid and Serie A giants AC Milan have been confirmed to play in the upcoming Dubai Challenge Cup, it was announced today.
The announcement was made at the headquarters of Emirates Airline – the shirt sponsors of both iconic football clubs.
The match is scheduled to take place on December 30 at the Sevens Stadium and will give fans in the UAE a chance to see some of football's biggest stars in action.
The reigning Ballon d'Or winner – awarded to the best footballer in the world – Cristiano Ronaldo is the star of Real Madrid, while the Spanish club also boasts superstars such as Welsh forward Gareth Bale, French striker Karim Benzema and Germany's World Cup-winning midfielder Toni Kroos.
AC Milan is home to such household names as Stephan El Shaarawy and on-loan Chelsea forward Fernando Torres.
Tickets are now on sale at Virgin Megastore and Time Out outlets and they cost from Dh200.
