  • Double delight: Fans can also watch the clash between Manchester City and United at the Fanzone.

Manchester City fans in the UAE will have the chance to get a firsthand look at the English Premier League trophy and Capital One Cup when the silverware is brought to Abu Dhabi.

The trophies will go on display tomorrow when Manchester City square-off with Manchester United as families can both get a look at the hardware and watch the derby at the Manchester City Fanzone on the outdoor Pitch 1 at Zayed Sports City.

“Fans all over the world will be watching this game and it is always hugely important to both sets of fans,” Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany said.

“Obviously we can all still remember winning both those trophies last season and it was an amazing feeling for me personally to lift them.

“It’s fantastic that City fans in Abu Dhabi are getting the chance to see them in real life as they support the team in the game against United.”

A competition will be held at halftime where one lucky winner will get to travel to the UK for a Manchester City game later this season. That surely is a football lover’s dream come true.

Refreshments will also be served throughout the night and guests will be able to experience the Etihad Airways’ F1 car simulator for some thrilling fun.

Manchester City’s presence in the UAE is strong with the club having their training academy, City Football School, at Zayed Sports City, where young players receive coaching every week.

The Fanzones in Abu Dhabi have hosted hundreds of Manchester City fans as well, with over 400 supporters watching the final game of last season at Zayed Sports City when the team hoisted the Premier League trophy.

“We have seen both the Fanzone events and City Football School in Abu Dhabi go from strength to strength over the years and taking the trophies there is a brilliant way to say thanks,” said World Cup winning legend Patrick Vieira, who runs the Elite Development Squad at Manchester City and is a regular visitor to Abu Dhabi.

Entry to the event is free for all with prior registration required by emailing [email protected]. The display begins at 16:30 with the derby kick-off at 17:30. Come watch one of the biggest rivalries in football and get a look at the Manchester City’s impressive trophy haul.
