  • Dream Team: Michel Salgado posing with the winners Sherif Nashed (l) and Oleg Ovdienko (r).

Not many people get the opportunity to play alongside former Spain international defender Michel Salgado.

Two lucky football fans in Dubai were given this chance after winning a competition at Barasti when Real Madrid beat Barcelona 3-1 in the El Clasico last month.

Spanish Soccer Schools organised a football challenge were fans had to do as many 'keep-ups' as possible under the spotlight of the crowd. Whichever two contestants scored the highest got the chance to play with the Real Madrid legend and his colleagues from the popular football academy based in Dubai Sports City.

Sherif Nashed, 25, managed to do an impressive 55 taps that cemented his place as the target-man for Salgado's side. He turned up in his Egyptian kit and was embarassed to admit that he is actually a Barcelona fan. This didn't prevent him from creating a fantastic bond with Salgado who was expectedly dictating the game in a deeper role.

Whereas the other winner, Oleg Ovdienko is a Manchester City fan from Russia. He preferred to sit in defence and feed simple balls to Salgado's feet and allow him to perform his magic- as you can see from this volley below:

It's clear that the 39-year-old icon hasn't lost it. Here's another one of his strikes:

It was a tremendous sight seeing football fans play alongside a maestro and they are both grateful that Spanish Soccer Schools, Barasti and Sport360 made it all happen.
