    1) THEO WALCOTT (Arsenal) – 8.4

The Gunners forward scored twice as the north London club eased past Basel 2-0 in their Champions League group stage match.

Walcott opened the scoring after just six minutes, expertly heading in from Alexis Sanchez’s clever pull-back.

And the two linked up again in the first-half, less than 20 minutes later.

The England striker finished off a free-flowing Arsenal move involving Alexis again to put the Swiss side well out of sight.

    2) MAREK HAMSIK (Napoli) – 8.3

The midfield general was in top class form as his Napoli team comfortably saw off the challenge of Benfica in a 4-2 Group B win.

Hamsik, who skippers Partenopei, opened the scoring after meeting Faouzi Ghoulam’s pinpoint corner – in a victory which helped to extend his Napoli’s unbeaten run to 11 games in all competitions.

The Slovakia star was a powerhouse throughout as Napoli once again showed why they should be taken seriously in the competition.

    3) THOMAS DELANEY (Copenhagen) – 8.2

The midfield captain scored an early contender for Champions League goal of the season as the Danish side thrashed Club Brugge 4-0.

Delaney, 25, rifled in a piledriver from range in an impressive Group G victory.

    4) ALEXIS SANCHEZ (Arsenal) – 7.6

The Gunners star needs little introduction.

He may not have got on the scoresheet on Wednesday night but he had a direct hand in both of Walcott’s goals for Arsenal.

The good news for Arsenal fans is Sanchez is in top form and that sends a strong message to the Reds’ rivals.

Feliz por la victoria y por mis compañeros 💪🏼⚽️ happy for the win and for my team mates .👏

    5) EDINSON CAVANI (Paris Saint-Germain) – 7.6

The Uruguayan hitman scored twice to spare the French giants’ blushes as they eventually ran out 3-1 winners over Ludogorets after going behind early on.

Cavani, 29, was the star of the show for Unai Emery’s men – helping them to a crucial victory in what has been a tough start to the season.
