  • The UAE is home to stunning areas of nature and with Quest for Adventure’s kayak tour, you can experience one of those must-visit locations.

The adventure sports company will conduct kayak tours in Al Zorah, Ajman, as part of the emirate’s initiative to increase tourism in the nation’s natural peninsula.

Flush with mangroves, lagoons and salt lakes, the destination, which has been officially declared a Wetland of International Importance by the Ramsar Convention, has plenty to offer visitors.

As well as the scenery, Al Zorah, spanning over one million square metres, features over 102 species of native and migratory birds, including pink flamingos that can be seen throughout the year and even more so during nesting season.

Visitors and scientists alike can also view a variety of fish, molluscs, corals and indigenous flora.

Imad Dana, chief executive officer of Al Zorah Development Company, said: “Al Zorah is a luxury destination in the Middle East built around an undisturbed ecosystem underlined by rich biodiversity.

“With the Ramsar Convention placing Al Zorah on the global map to highlight its immense environmental value, we are offering visitors, including students, the opportunity to explore the natural mangroves and creek through the Kayak Tours.

“The tours will open doors to memorable experiences with the promise of sighting a range of native and migratory birds. The serene ambience of the mangroves will be truly uplifting for every visitor.”

With Quest for Adventure, participants will get a guided tour using single or double Sit-On-Top kayaks. All the equipment needed is provided and no experience is necessary.

The tours will begin this month and are open to the public, as well as students through a guided schools programme.

Visitors to Al Zorah can also check out Marina 1, constructed along the creek to offer views of the mangroves and by year’s end, provide additional activities such as seaplane tours, watersports, abra rides, land-based adventure sports, an outdoor fitness club and waterfront cafes and restaurants.

Head to Al Zorah and experience the natural wonder for yourself.
