The 10th edition of the tournament gets underway from December 28-30 at Zayed Sports City’s International Tennis Centre in Abu Dhabi and like previous years it’s one not to miss.
Joining four-time champion Nadal and Djokovic, who will make his long-awaited comeback since July, in the six-player line-up is three-time grand slam champion Stan Wawrinka.
Like Djokovic, the Swiss will take to the court for the first time since Wimbledon and will open his campaign against US Open semi-finalist Pablo Carreno Busta.
Another MWTC debutant, world No.5 Dominic Thiem will take on Milos Raonic, who is making his third consecutive appearance in Abu Dhabi.
Besides watching the tennis, those attending the first day of the tournament activities on 28 December, can expect plenty of fun at the Tennis Village for Kid’s Day.
There will also be an opportunity to meet Nadal at his autograph signing as well as watching the players up close at their practice sessions.
With tickets still available, John Lickrish, CEO of Flash Entertainment, says to purchase them now to avoid disappointment.
“To be celebrating the 10th landmark edition of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship this year is something Flash are truly proud of,” he said.
“We bring a tournament format that is completely unique to the UAE, where tennis fans can enjoy watching the world’s best players battle it out, and families and friends can come together for a great day out to lap up the excitement both on and off-court.
“Over the past nine editions we have seen 125,000 fans come and join us in Abu Dhabi, which goes to show its popularity here. This year will certainly be another thrilling event.”
As well as watching some of the world’s best tennis stars on UAE soil, you can warm up or cool down at Creamfields Abu Dhabi or Katy Perry’s New Year’s Eve concert.
If you have already purchased a ticket for MWTC, you can now receive a 20 per cent discount when purchasing a General Admission ticket to Creamfields Abu Dhabi and/or Katy Perry’s New Year Eve concert online through www.ticketmaster.ae.
