Club Vista Mare on Palm Jumeirah will transform into an open-air workout arena with ‘Core Beats’, a free-to-attend, first-of-its-kind yoga and fitness concert in Dubai this Saturday.
The chilled yoga flow and energetic beach workouts, in collaboration with Palm Jumeirah-based yoga studio Yoga La Vie, will be set on the beach overlooking the waters of Palm Jumeirah. The Core Beats fitness concert will energise the evening with light installations, a live DJ, and an all-star yogi and fitness instructor line-up.
Participants will also get a 15 per cent discount on food and beverage at Ibn Al Bahr and Aji restaurants, to recharge post-workout sessions.
Yoga Beats is a music-inspired sunset Vinyasa Yoga Flow that focuses on breathing and movement. Guided by three of Dubai’s top yoga practitioners – Neha Duseja (@nehadesujayoga) leading and Simona Stanton (@simonastanton) and Lara Bogdanovic (@laraandyoga) on stage – attendees will experience powerful and hypnotic asanas that will keep them energised, mindful and connected with their inner self.
Fitness Beats is a 60-minute body weight, high-intensity interval training session that increases strength, muscle and cardio endurance, releases endorphins and can burn up to 1,000 calories per class and extra calories for up to 24 hours post workout.

While all attention this summer has been on the FIFA World Cup, another sport has been growing in popularity, and has finally arrived in Dubai.
Kabaddi as a sport has been deeply entwined with Asian culture and history and has seen a strong resurgence in the last four years, as an international sport thanks to the rising popularity of the VIVO ProKabaddi League in India.
The Kabaddi World Cup in 2016 saw participation from 12 countries and was broadcast in more than 120 countries, introducing the sport to a new wave of fans. As part of its mission to grow, the International Kabaddi Federation and Star India Pvt. Ltd, with the support of the Dubai Sports Council, have organised the first ever Kabaddi Masters Dubai 2018.
The nine-day sporting event will see participation from India, Pakistan, Republic of Korea, Iran, Argentina and Kenya. This is one of the few times that an international sporting spectacle will see India and Pakistan lock horns in a Kabaddi showdown of rivals.
Anupam Goswami, the League Commissioner, said: “The success of any sport is competition and there is huge appetite for this sport. Dubai is a fantastic place for it to take off and we’re on the road to a very successful event. This is a big test for the sport of Kabaddi, especially with the football World Cup [on going]. We’re also in talks, with our friends at the Dubai Sports Council, to host a 2019 World Cup in Dubai.”
The six participating teams are divided into two groups of three. The teams in each group play two matches against every other team in their respective group, with the top two teams from both groups qualifying for the semi-finals. The two teams to emerge as victors from the semi-finals will play each other in the final.
Fans of the sport can experience the best of Kabaddi live at the Kabaddi Masters Dubai 2018 at the Al Wasl Sports Club, free of charge.

FC Dubai and It’s Just Football are teaming up again to deliver two exciting programmes for budding footballers this summer.
From July 1 to August 30, they will be holding another summer camp at Al Quoz and Dubai Sports World as well as their first-ever Elite Football Development camp at the latter venue.
The summer camp is open for children aged between 4 and 12 with sessions at Al Quoz running from 09:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 16:00. For those attending at Dubai Sports World, classes are held between 10:00 to 13:00.
For those who want to develop their knowledge and skills over the summer period under highly qualified coaches, then the Elite Football Development camp, which runs from 10:00 to 13:00, is the perfect programme.
Working on techniques, tactics and match situations, players aged 12 and above will be part of a fun but focused camp where there will be personalized training strategies as well as putting their skills to the test through practice games.
FC Dubai and It’s Just Football are no strangers to hosting camps with their previous being well liked and 2018 looks set to be no different.
“Our football specific camps are always very popular, mainly due to the high standard of coaching, the venues we use and the environment we create for the children to learn, enjoy and excel,” said Lee Mannion, head coach at It’s Just Football. “We expect nothing different over this summer and the bookings have already be coming in very quickly.
“The camp will consist of weekly themes so the children will know exactly what the outcomes will be and everyday as they arrive they will know what the plans are for that day. The children can expect to learn lots skills, techniques and team play whilst having lots of fun in a friendly, safe environment.”
For the summer camp, parents can choose from three options: half a day (09:00 to 12:00 or 13:00 to 16:00) costs Dh150, while it’s Dh400 for three days or Dh650 for five days. For those who want to attend the full day, then it’s Dh250 daily, Dh650 for three days or Dh1,000 for five days.
The development camp costs Dh150 for one day, Dh400 for three days or Dh650 for five days.
With a week to go until it begins, Mannion believes there many reasons why parents should enroll their children.
“If you want your child to feel encouraged, safe and challenged with Dubai’s most qualified team of football coaches then this is the camp for,” he said.
“With our amazing indoor facilities that not only include the pitches but also comfortable areas for the players to rest during the break times we set the environment for learning and development.”
