Abu Dhabi are no strangers to MMA, having held the World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship for the past seven years, the UFC, as well as the two previous Abu Dhabi Warriors editions.

With 30 KO/TKO finishes between them, Sokoudjou v Buentello (33-16) promises to be a slug fest which will certainly excite the crowd.

“The African Assassin” Sokoudjou, a veteran of PRIDE, UFC and Bellator, will challenge Buentello in a fight packed with expertise. Buentello enters the ring with some pedigree behind him.

The former UFC and Strikeforce heavyweight title challenger, seeking his fifth win in six fights, has faced some of the biggest names in the business having fought former heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem and seven-foot giant Stefan Struve.

Besides the main bout, one of Europe’s top lightweights Alexander Sarnavskiy takes on Canadian Jesse Ronson, who is searching for his third straight win.

Other matches include light heavyweights Max Nunes meeting Fabricio Monteiro, while Karl Amoussou and Abdulmajid Magomedov will clash for the welterweight title.

Waylon Lowe features on the main card and will fight Vaso Bakocevic.

Completing the Main Card is Waylon Lowe, who goes head to head with Vaso Bakocevic in the Lightweight division. And the Preliminary Card is equally impressive. UAE’s Al Darmaki will be searching for his first victory when he takes on Artiyom Gorodynets in the Featherweights division.

Lubomir Guedjev, managing director of Abu Dhabi Warriors, insists it’s event that no MMA fan will want to miss. “The Fight card is a very solid card and we have fighters from around the world,” he said.

“Some of the biggest names in MMA are competing, who have had good records in their respective career. Not only will the main event be interesting but there will be five or six good fights that will be explosive to watch.”
