  • Dame Laura Davies fired a second consecutive 68 in Dubai.

Dame Laura Davies fired a second consecutive 68 to sit just two shots off the lead after the second round of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters.

A bogey on the 17th was the only blemish on Davies’ card as she moved to eight under, two shots behind defending champion Shanshan Feng.

The world number six has yet to drop a shot this week and made it two rounds of 67 as she chases a third title at Emirates Golf Club.

Davies then has a three-shot cushion over Sweden’s Caroline Hedwall and Thai Pornanong Phatlum with French duo Jade Schaeffer and Ariane Provot a further shot back.

England’s Melissa Reid is then in the group at three under after she fired the low round of the day with a 66. The 28-year-old from Derby had an eagle and six birdies but two dropped shots on the last four holes stalled her progress.

Liz Young was also at three under after a disappointing 75 with Scottish pair Carly Booth and Kelsey Macdonald level par alongside Georgia Hall.

Charley Hull, Rebecca Hudson and Amy Boulden were then all one over, 11 shots off the lead.
