  • Swing kings: Five golfers have qualified for the tournament in Spain.

Five Dubai-based Porsche owners have secured their spots at the annual Porsche Golf Cup World Final in Majorca, Spain.

Over 100 amateur golfers competed in the Porsche Golf Cup Dubai at the Emirates Golf Club last week, with the top-scoring Porsche owners across five individual categories qualifying for the amateur tournament in the Mediterranean.

In the three men’s categories, Pontus Fredriksson won the gross men’s spot with a round of 78, with Yves Boukhaled winning the net men’s (0-17 handicaps) and Ken Byrne the net men’s (18-28 handicaps).

With a round of 82, Naima Maya was the top-scoring Porsche owner in the gross ladies’ category, while Soumaya Argui top-scored in the net ladies’ category.

The 2014 Porsche Golf Cup Dubai was hosted by Porsche Centre Dubai, Al Nabooda Automobiles LLC, the sole distributor for Porsche in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

All five Porsche owners are entitled to participate in the Porsche Golf Cup World Final and will be joined by hundreds of finalists from other qualifying tournaments organised by Porsche Centres around the world.

The Porsche Golf Cup World Final will take place from the May 6 to 9.
