Harradine and Tufail awarded order of merit for 2014

    Michael Harradine and Sana Tufail were crowned the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) Order of Merit (OoM) champions when the 2013- 2014 season came to an end.

    The Men’s Division, played in a gross format, was composed of 14 events between October 2013 and May 2014. And Harradine was the clear-cut winner with 268 points in these 36-hole events.

    Having won six out of the 10 events that he played this season, Harradine will be a strong favorite going into the Champions of Champions event, which will be played at The Els Club Dubai (May 30-31).

    Finishing in runner-up position was young Rayhaan Thomas (DCGYC) with 212.8 points, while Christopher Alderman of The Montgomerie took third place with 134 points.

    In the Ladies’ Division, there were two different scoring categories – gross and net. In a season that had 12 events, Yas Links’ Tufail not only won the gross title with 228 total points, but despite her plus handicap, she amazingly finished runner-up in the net category too with 154.5 points.

    The youngster won six out of eight events played, while Kim Chiang of Arabian Ranches took the runner-up position in the gross category and was the winner in the Net category.

    Chiang had 200.5 gross points and 209.3 net points, while placing third in both the gross and net categories was Anastasia Bakal (TMD) with 154.5 points in the gross category and 140 points in the net category.

    The EGF Junior Division OoM consists of two categories and two divisions. Both, Boys and Girls divisions had a gross and net category. The season had nine events for the juniors to compete.

    Eric Hartzuiker (ARGC) won the Boys Gross Division, while Arkesh Bhatia (DCGYC) was runner-up. Aryan Chordia, also of Dubai Creek, rounded off the top-three.

    Els Clubs’ Harry Sheedy was the winner in the Boys Net Division with 124.5 points. Suvansh Arora of Emirates Golf Club was second and Dhruv Nair third. Alkyonie Aharidis (TEC) won both the gross and net categories of the Girls Divisions.

    Aharidis tallied 183 points in gross and 174 points in the net category.

    Runner-up in both categories were taken by Dubai Creek’s Ashaka Desai with a gross point total of 145.5 and a net total of 145, while Ananya Sharma (EGC) was third.
