  • A new beginning: UAE national team members with ETPI and EGF officials.

The DP World Tour Championship and its various stakeholders have signed a partnership with the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) under which they will help grow the game in the region by supporting the UAE national team programme.

The new initiative will see the UAE teams, which consist of seventeen men, ladies and juniors, benefit from the state-of-the-art European Tour Performance Institute (ETPI) based at Jumeirah Golf Estates, home of the DP World Tour Championship, the season-ending tournament of European Tour.

The ETPI has been lauded internationally for its array of top-level facilities, with European Tour players regularly visiting Dubai to use it, and the partnership offers the region’s most promising players a cutting edge to develop further.

The programme, which will be coordinated by Greg Holmes, EGF National First Team Coach, with coordination from the ETPI’s Director of Instruction, Wayne Johnson, will see the national teams given full access to the outstanding facilities and practice areas for a minimum of next three years.

They will receive a series of elite coaching sessions and will enjoy group and individual training programmes, skills challenges and specialised gym work.

Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with this partnership which offers us the chance to play a part in the development of our UAE national teams.

"The growth of the game in the region is extremely important to us.”
