Hick pulls through for victory in Emirates Golf Federation Medal

    Dave Hick claimed the first place prize in the Emirates Golf Federation Medal on his home soil at Al Badia Golf Club on Friday.

    It wasn't an easy victory though as runner-up Kieran O'Connor was on top of the leaderboard all day but he couldn't retain that form when it mattered.

    Hick played off a course handicap of 15, shooting a net score of 68, (4-under). Hick had a total of six net birdies and five net pars.

    O’Connor was playing off an 11 handicap, and shot a net score of 70 (2-under), collecting six net birdies, eight net pars, and carding nothing higher than four net bogies.

    Taking home the third place prize was Iain Milligan who finished even par after shooting an impressive eagle.

    There was also on course competitions that were up for grabs during the event sponsored by Jaermann & Stübi.

    The Longest Drive Competition winner was Saif Thabet representing the Emirates Golf Federation. The winner of the Nearest to the Pin competition on Hole No. 11, was David McCready, also representing the Emirates Golf Federation.

    The EGF Order of Merit (OOM) Season starts next month with the RAK Junior Open on October 11, 2014 at Al Hamra Golf Club.

    Following the first junior event The Montgomerie Dubai will host the first Men’s OOM event, the TMD Men’s Open on October 17-18, 2014.

    The first Ladies’ OOM Event will take place at The Montgomerie Dubai for the TMD Ladies Open on November 7, 2014.
