  • Two times a winner: Rory McIlroy secured his second European Tour title.

McIlroy was a clear winner of the European title, earning more than double of that accrued by second-placed Henrik Stenson, who was the defending champion heading into this season.

McIlroy is adamant that he will be as determined as ever to secure victory in Dubai despite wrapping up the award without striking a ball at Jumeirah Golf Estate.

"It’s very special, the Race to Dubai title is something that is very important to the players. It’s one of your main objectives starting out every year," said McIlroy. "To be able to win without really having to do too much in Dubai this week is a bonus but I want to finish the season off well."
