Abdulla wins final Emirates Golf Federation Monthly Medal

    Saturday (May 9) saw national junior Mohammed Saeed Abdulla win the overall Stableford competition at the final Emirates Golf Federation’s (EGF) National Monthly Medal of the 2014 – 2015 season at the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.

    The curtain-closing competition enticed one of the largest fields of the season with 35 players all taking to the Dubai Creek course.

    Abdulla claimed victory with a score of 37 points, two clear of joint runners-up Ahmed Skaik and Saleh Al Ameri.

    The Best Gross Award went to Abdulla Al Musharrekh, who shot a 3-over-par, 74. With a front nine score of 36 and a back nine score of 38, Al Musharrekh had 12 pars and two birdies.

    Winning the Division A (0-14 Handicap) Award was Mohammed Al Musharrekh with 33 points, while Faisal Al Sayegh claimed Division B’s (15-28 Handicap) top honour with 35 points. 

    During the event there were a number of on course challenges up for grabs.

    Taking home the longest drive awards were Rashid Hamood (adult) and Rashid Al Emadi (junior). The nearest to the pin trophies were won by Mohammed Al Musharrekh (adult) and Khalil Kashwani (junior).

    During the award presentation, the EGF took time out to recognise the accomplishments of the UAE National Golf Teams from 2014.

    Skaik, Abdulla Al Qubaisi, and Saeed Al Balooshi were all acknowledged for winning the Gold Medal in the team gross category for the 2014 GCC Golf Championships (18-Under Division) and Khalid Yousuf drew credit for winning the silver medal in the individual gross category at the 2014 Arab Golf Championship.

    Each player received a certificate and trophy from the Ministry of General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare.
