    Robin Kadyan held off a spirited challenge from Aamir Inam to emerge as the overall winner of the Emirates Airline and Orient Travel Golf Challenge at Emirates Golf Club’s Faldo course.

    With all parts of his game falling into place, Kadyan reeled off an impressive 42 stableford points to beat Inam by one point.

    The two were also instrumental in guiding their team, which also included Chalermsak Suranant and Pairat Sukngam, to victory in the team division on 19-under par.

    The team of Alan Salem, Soumaya Salem, Charles Graham and Paul Evans finished second on 15-under.

    The annual tournament, which was supported by Malaysia Tourism, saw a full field compete for team and individual prizes. Asim Arshad, CEO of Orient Travel and Tourism Agency, Mohamad Taib Ibrahim, director of Malaysia Tourism Board, and Shaz Peshimam of Emirates presented the prizes.

    Manning wins Sharjah Monthly Stableford

    Adrian Manning returned 37 full-handicap Stableford points to win the December edition of the Sharjah Golf & Shooting Clubs Unitechnik Monthly Stableford held on Boxing Day.

    The Briton, off a 13 course handicap, produced 22 Stableford points on his opening nine, the highlight being a birdie two on the stroke index 8 second hole and 15 points on the back nine to pip event sponsor Hans Ettengruber (25) by a single point.

    Ettengruber, however, took some consolation in taking the Division 2 title courtesy of his steady 36 point total.

    The Division A title went to Shaheen Butt (14) who finished on 34 points and Roy Holmes (6) took the leading gross award by virtue of a better back nine than the fast-improving Hanief Sallie (8).

    Stephanie shines at Yas Links ECCO Challenge

    Stephanie Wilson was the big winner in the Members ECC O Challenge at Yas Links when she finished her round with 39 points.

    That gave her the bragging rights and a pair of ECC O Biom Shoes with a shoe care kit and towel.

    Damien Ward was second on 38 points, while Ghassan Zoabi was third after a countback with 36 points.

    The next ECC O Challenge Individual Stableford will be played on January 22.
