At StartYas, held every Sunday between 18:00-22:00, you can begin the week by cycling, walking or running and embrace the healthy lifestyle. On top of that, GoYas on Wednesdays is open to ladies only with cycling and group classes open to those aged 14 and above. It’s held under the patronage of Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, allowing females to engage in fun and healthy fitness activities in complete privacy.
“Since the inception of our community programmes Start, Train and GoYAS, we have seen it grow dramatically and now have more than 5,000 health and fitness enthusiasts get active each week, for free,” said Abdulla Al Shammari, Yas community manager.
“Participants can walk, run or cycle around the world famous Formula One track in a traffic-free, safe and friendly environment.” Whatever your level, the events are open to everyone with each night a “celebration of fitness”.
“We have three weekly community fitness events sponsored by Daman’s ActiveLife which aim to get the whole community together, whatever their fitness level,” said Al Shammari.
“Each night is a celebration of fitness; StartYAS encourages people of all ages and fitness levels to get active and takes place every Sunday. Weekly TrainYAS sessions take place every Tuesday, where families and friends are encouraged to train together, whatever their level of fitness and at whatever speed suits them.
“Under the patronage of Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, GoYAS is a female-only initiative for women to engage in fun, healthy fitness activities in complete privacy. Ladies can walk, cycle or run around Yas Marina Circuit or take part in a variety of group training sessions.
“The unique thing about GoYAS is that it is a women friendly environment – even all our security and staff are female.”
Advanced registration is strongly recommended and Al Shammari insists it’s a chance not to be turned down. “It is a great opportunity for the community to get together, get active, whatever their fitness level, and have fun in a traffic-free, safe and friendly environment in a unique venue,” he said.
“We truly have something for everyone – and best of all it’s free.”
